villa

While we had a hard time choosing our dinner/party location, finding the perfect place to spend the afternoon was super-easy. When we first visited the place last winter while invited to a dinner held by a close friend, we automatically fell for the place. It is a napoleonic style villa built in 872 and nowadays is landmarked. The villa is situated at the lake promenade overlooking the lakeshore and has a fair and beautiful garden with lots of buddha statues and rose bushes growing wild. In all, a little jewel by the lake of Constance. But see for yourself.

PS: Of course we will spend the wedding night there, in room number 5.

outdoor

Here's the thing: We'd love to have an outdoor wedding. Some nice setting at the beautiful lake or in the garden of our little jewel hotel, or, or or. A thousand ideas. But. Yes - there's a huge but. Living in Switzerland and having very unstable, unpredictable weather even in summer, it will be a nightmare to plan such a wedding. I kept imagining myself freaking out every single day before the wedding driving all around me nuts. So we decided to have it indoors but still spend the afternoon outdoors at Villa Barleben, our little garden Eden.

If I'd live just a bit closer to the equator, this is how I would arrange the ceremony setting. Isn't it just amazingly pretty?

Here are some more outdoor wedding settings. Gorgeous!

hello!

Being in the middle of a great, great time in my life, namely preparing our wedding, I suddenly felt the need to hug the whole world. To reach out to everybody. To talk, and talk and talk about my happiness. So that's why I am here. And also will be on bad days. Sad moments.
But for now, I am just happy to start my own blog. Nice to meet you out there!
