searching
Are you also one of the persons looking constantly for your stuff? I think I pass quite an amount of time looking for my keys, my purse, my glasses. Had to smile when I found this application. You know when you lose your phone, how you ask a friend to call you to see if you hear it ring? What do you do when no one is around? The solution is on this smart website. Enter your number and it will call your mobile. Awesome! I just tried it, it does work!
Another funny link from the web for your mates at work who find it more convenient to bother you with their questions rather than to just google the answer in a second: Let me google that for you :)

Inspired movie posters
How classy are these redesigned movie posters inspired by a a classic wear piece of each movie? Rad. I'd like to have the Dumb & Dumber poster, hilarious. Moxy Creative House redesigned ten movie posters, see them all here.

kate spade london pop-up
Loving the Kate Spade London Pop-up shop. Any of you travelling to London soon? It is open until November 10th, before it disappears and all the fancy, colorful content is delivered to my home. Wishful thinking. :)

Federer & Nadal
Today did definitely not make it into the top ten days of my life so far. Not even into the top100, if there was such a list. Horrible day. I hope you out there had a much better one, but if not, this is what lately makes me laugh, no matter what. The Swiss and the Spaniard. :)

Talking Water
Solidarités International: Water talks from La Boite Concept on Vimeo.
I just came across this creative public service announcement in Paris. Isn't it an ingenious way to get a message across the mass? Pretty difficult problem to solve, though.

Let them eat cake
Not that I am much into sweets. I am more of a spicy-stuff-loving person. But since I've been looking for a wedding cake I am enamored with all types of them. No matter if opulent or very simple, high towers or little cupcakes, aren't they pretty and look all yummmm? We've decided for a sweet and simple one. Looking forward to the next wedding - let them eat cake!

letters
When was the last time you sent a letter? Yes, a real letter? We did send out the wedding invitations and thank you notes this year :). But appart from that, it has been too long since I last wrote a letter. Bummer - since I love receiving them. During the last years though I used to exchange letters with my cousin living in NJ. She did send me reports and pictures, also real ones for that matter, of her trips and I did the same. It was so nice opening the mailbox and finding a sweet letter amidst all the bills and publicity mailings.
But then we stopped using good old letters and... replaced them by emails, what else. Hey Lups, what about writing letters again?
Some rad letterpress. Happy weekend, maybe writing with a pen instead of through your keypad? :) xo
This card from Sycamore Street Press makes me smile.

fall-ing into winter
I was beginning to love (ok maybe "to like" is more appropriate) fall. The beautiful colours of the leaves, the sunlight shining through misty mornings... But since yesterday I am back to reality. Here in Switzerland we get temperatures during fall, that fit winter much more than they do fit fall. To make it short: Temperatures have dropped significantly, mornings are really chilly by now. And I begin to dislike fall. Still, here's a beautiful picture of a chilly, misty, sunny morning of a Swiss fall day.

light tower for john
The Imagine Peace Tower symbolizes John's and Ono's campaign for world peace - which began in the sixties, was sealed by their marriage in 1969.
Last Saturday would have been John Lennon's 70th birthday. In her husbands honor, Yoko Ono relighted the Imagine Peace Tower on Viðey Island in Reykjavík, Iceland. A monument that shines light up to the sky. The words IMAGINE PEACE are inscribed on the Tower in 24 different languages. Yoko hopes to send 1 million peace messages to the tower, you can ad yours here.
Remember this footage about their bed-ins during the Vietnam war? All we are saying...

little hideaway
And on this future, which is now and today, we'll spend a cozy after-honeymoon-weekend at a beautiful little hotel in the southern part of Switzerland. I had to laugh at the quite creative hotel description of it's own services, here an extract for your own amusement:
"as a holiday hotel, there is not enough space, as a design hotel we are much too improvised and for families we are far from being suitable, but for a relaxing city escape in jeans and chucks it's absolutely gorgeous. 21 simple or stylish, basic and luxurious, tiny and huge but always surprising rooms, an excellent fish and seafood restaurant, cool sound, wacky people and a lake lounge where your feet sometimes get wet are all perfect reasons to forget about the daily hassle for a couple of precious moments. (...)
our service concept is not based on classic classification criteria because some of those criteria we do not want to follow, others we can't keep but mainly because we look for solutions where we think it might be more fun than the traditional ways of our old heroes."
So I am looking forward to 4 o' clock, time I will pick up my hubby and elope. Have a cozy weekend. xoxo

being a maid of honor
Did I tell you that I am a maid of honor? Or better to speak, will be next May 2011. I am totally thrilled and happy. Looking at hundreds of pretty things, sending inspiration images to the bride. Hey bride, do I overwhelm you? If so, I am sorry, but it's for your best. I am so much lucking forward to the day she puts on her wedding shoes. She will look gorgeous and I will do everything for her to feel comfortable and have an unforgettable day. Groom and bride are such a great couple, full of ideas and projects. One lucky girl, I am.

the Budapesters
Dear shopping partners,
I know you didn't like us that much at first. But: We are so comfortable and somehow cool - at least S. thinks we are cool, that's why she bought us. We are so smooth that it seems we are not there at all. Sunday we were invited to go on a little family trip accompanied by a dress. Yesterday we were at work and even at a birthday party, together with a pair of blue jeans. You see, we are also very convertible. Aren't the above reasons enough to like us?
Hope to see you soon, love,
the Budapesters' from Milan

shopping
What are you up to this weekend, my loves? I'll go shopping on Saturday to Milan with some girls. I have a mission to accomplish: Buy some winter clothes. With winter clothes I mean winter clothes. Real ones. Some stuff that holds me warm.
I am a summer girl, which is quite bad, living in Switzerland. So... My closet features lots and lots of summer clothes and little winter ones. My winter warderobe is really poor but..that will change tomorrow (hopefully...). It's about time. Wish me success - Wish you fun.
