plastic toys

Aled Lewis created the project Make Something 365 – every day during 2011, Aled will create something new. Now he published a series of vignettes made with plastic toys and funny but clever captions. Don’t they make you giggle?

Aled - who is also planning on making his vignettes available for sale on his blog - was recently interviewed by My Modern Metropolis, read the interview here.

dressing spring

Now that I’ve stored the ski outfit and equipment in the basement and the sun keeps shining, I am looking for some dresses to wear this spring. I love these from Asos, how about you?

bird-chirping weather

Hi dolls, how have you been? I had a great weekend in the mountains and I know I'll be having a hard time sitting still in the office. I long for time spent outside, fresh air, birds chirping. Sigh. Have a good start into this week and lots of fresh air!

staring at the sun

Friday - finally! I am looking forward to a long weekend including lots of skiing (hopefully), wellnessing, some UNO-playing, cheesy Swiss meals, laying in a sunbed staring at the sun and lots of laughter. So, dear snow, make us happy and hang in there! Just for three more days and then, then you can melt away.

Have a happy weekend everybody!

is it me?

I haven't found the original source of this picture and neither of the creator of this poster but it cracks me up! Hilarious - like lots of the posts you will find on the triumph of bullshit.

mid-week cuteness

I am a snub-nosed monkey and live in China's Zhouzhi Natinal Nature Reserve. I know I am the cutest thing and have even served as example for Michael Jackson's cosmetic surgery on his nose. See more of my fellows overe here.

colourful home

With brighter days comes the craving for colour. How hip is this LA bungalow with all it's bright colours, yet simple decorating?

spring has sprung!

Hello, spring! Thanks for bringing so many heart-warming moments to us.

flowers in bloom, bare feet, bike tours by the lake, warm temperatures, nature scents, longer days, short sleeves, light jackets, cool drinks, picnics, sunglasses, lambretta driving, lunch at the sun, ice cream.

You are welcome to stay forever. Except that we want summer to be here, too. :)

for japan with love

Encouragement

Somehow this past week I've been writting posts halfhearted. Busy time over her, I get not enough hours of sleep and then the news have not been motivating at all either. But most of all just thinking about 35 million people being scared, not to mention the status of the nuclear power plants that might cause one of the biggest disasters ever... So posting about the latest design shirts and other cheery things just didn't feel right. But at the end it comes to do what we can do to support Japan and be cheery again, being grumpy doesn't help anyway.

Have a relaxing weekend everyone!

sigh again

I am incredibly tired and can't wait for the weekend to begin. So many things going on that I don't know where to start nor where to end. So that's the reason for some lame posts lately, my appologies. But hey; chocolate, chocolate always helps.

Trompe l'oeil mirror

What a fabulous idea. Painting the wall behind the sink with chalkboard colour makes it pretty convertible. Bonus: this mirror doesn't reflect any wrinkles in the morning.

Japan

Have your thoughts been with Japan, the last couple of days? I bet. Isn't it odd to think that one minute you are happily or not so happily living with your every day struggles and the next minute everything changes?

As if the massive earthquake and subsequent tsunami weren't enough, Japan is now fearing nuclear radiation. Let's hope officials react as quick as possible in a worst case and take good care of their civilians, giving them as much protection as possible under the circumstances.

PS: you can buy this poster to help raise relief funds over here.

your tea time

Sanctuary T would like to know what your tea time looks like. Their photography project "your tea time" showcases photography of people around the globe enjoying their tea. If you are a tea lover yourself, you might want to upload your picture, no?

Spending time with a book and a cup of tea today is what I have been looking for all the way, after a long shopping tour, of course. It's been too long. :-*

growing old together

How adorable are these pictures? They reflect what only a long time of happiness, taking hurdles, going through hard times can accomplish. Pure tenderness.
