desert office
This whole week I've been alone at the office. I mean the pals specialised in e-communication are in, but not within the same four walls. Which led me to enjoy the first two days of peace and tranquility, of concentrate work without interruption -but now makes me feel lonely. And hungry. Usually we spend quite some time eating. Nuts. Fruits. Sweets. Ice cream. We even had a Landjäger-at-9am-phase. It went like this:
Pal1: "Ohhh I'd die for a Landjäger now..."
Pal2: " Shut up, you're a pig."
Pal3: "Hmm... a Landjäger with some fresh bread isn't the worst of ideas..."
Pal2: "Who's driving to the shop?"
10 minutes later, we were eating Landjäger. How disgusting is that?
Some other time is spent talking about our problem areas (...) and how we all want to work out more often. Anyway. Lonely, was what I wanted to say. And we do some work as well. Quite a lot, I'd say.
What are your team's habits, dolls? I'd love to hear.

newspaper candle

Every day we tend to spend more time reading online news, e-mails, blogs... and less time is dedicated to a good old newspaper. Holding a newspaper in one's hands however is something special. The texture, the smell remind me of Sundays spent with it. Here comes something that brings to you the smell of a newspaper, a candle! Pretty neat, hm?

espadrilles crush
How was your weekend dolls? I've been running around in my espadrilles almost the whole weekend. Bought a pair while in Madrid last March and rediscovered how comfortable they are. Did you know they have been made in Spain since the 14th century? The term espadrille is French and derives from the Catalan name espardenya, which derives from espart, the Catalan name for "esparto" the wiry Mediterranean grass used to make the sole.
These slippers remind me of my childhood. Espadrilles - along with chorizo and queso Manchego - were always on our things-to-buy-on-the-last-day-of-the-family-holiday-in-Spain list to take back to Switzerland and enlarge the holiday feeling a bit.
Cool to see them everywhere now! Now also available in leather by Lika Mimika.

funny messages
Here comes a clever way to communicate those "special" messages that usually tend to embarass quite a bit... Check out Knock Knock for loads of funny office stationary that helps telling your opinion in a funny and slightly offensive way. :) I'd like to get this stamp:

summer solstice
Sol + stice derives from a combination of Latin words meaning "sun" + "to stand still." As the days lengthen, the sun rises higher and higher until it seems to stand still in the sky. As a major celestial event, the Summer Solstice results in the longest day and the shortest night of the year.
On the Northern Hemisphere today is our longest day - if you don't happen to live on the Southern half of the earth where the longest day is celebrated in December, please join me in welcoming summer! Hello summer!Welcome! We've been expecting you with open arms!
Today makes me want to celebrate. Celebrate the longest day - or the shortest night.
How about a dinner with friends in the park?
Watching a movie outdoors - rather at the lake or on your balcony?
Converting your bathroom into an oasis?

Converting your bedroom into a Sommernachtstraum? And yes I use this word in German. Wanna know why? Somehow I think German is such a dure language in which even the most sweet words sound quite stern. But SOMMERNACHTSTRAUM... sounds so romantic...:
SOMMER - NACHTS - TRAUM.
Sleeping outdoors?
Converting your bathroom into an oasis?

The best looks are published weekly. Plus: If you make it to the blog roll, you will receive EUR 300.00. Ohhh... I sure don't know what I would do with that money. New shorts and blouses from Zara? Maybe. Probably. Have you seen it yet? Go here.

super moon
Have you watched last night's super moon? In Switzerland heavy clouds covered the moon, so not much could be seen from our end. But I believe some lucky fellows had a super view of super moon - like our English colleagues in Glastonbury. Isn't the above picture by Ben Bircharl amazing? Super moon pictures from around the globe can be found over here.

summer in a camper
Back at work but only physically. In my mind I am settling down for the summer in this camper. I've already packed all that's needed and will pass the days fishing (yes, why not!) and doing all kind of watersports. Wanna join? At sunset we'll grill some fish (yes I am a bbq chef...)before we start telling each other scary stories.

surreal santorini
How have you been dear readers? I hope you had a nice long weekend and have relaxed quite a bit.
As for us, we had an amazing first anniversary weekend in Santorini - such a magical island. The little white villages along the Caldera might be the most romantic spots ever. So I'd like to share a bit of our trip, if you'd like.
We stayed at Andromeda Villas in Immerovigli, a little village perched on the top of the impressive cliffs with little whitewashed houses and an amazing view towards the Aegean Sea. We enjoyed drinks and the view ahead of us by the pool.
A friend had recommended to rent a quad to discover the island, so off we went feeling adventurous. We drove the wine routes close to Messaria and Vothonas down South to the beach in Kamari.
Made a little stop at a viewpoint in a winery...before we entered the enchanted little village Pyrgos for a walk and some cool drinks.
And, as it probably happens to all visitors, I got a serious fixation with doors. Doors and windows that is...
Driving up North again after a bath in the Ocean, we stopped at a little tavern called Delphini - right between Cape Columbo and Paradissos - to have a delicious seafood lunch.
Cuteness fact: The owner; a Greek lady in her 80ies, was truly a one-man show: owner, waitress and cook - all in one. She actually comes to your table, takes the order, goes into her small kitchen to cook and serves the food before she takes the order at the next table.
We also headed off to stroll through Oia's narrow alleys and steep stairs...
...famous for its sunsets.
Of course there were many couples, taking pictures of each other. So did we. And we spotted a dozen bridal couples...
The next day, Thira, the capital of Santorini with all its little shops and taverns was our destination.
Greek food is incredibly delicious, so we ended up doing some kind of taste-test at lots of little taverns. Naoussa restaurant probably won. We couldn't stop mhhh-ing at every plate - neither could the Americans next to us. If you happen to visit Santorini, please, please have dinner there and start with eggplant salad served with hot pitta bread, spicy peppers and baked feta before you get yourself some of the best cooked fish ever (how about baked Octopus?).
The last day we visited a little shop right in front of the church in Firostefani to get some ingredients to take back home...
... and walked the path along the Caldera at night before we had a glass of Greek wine on our balcony and said "see you soon, Santorini!".
