happy halloween!

monday daydream: schloss neuschwanstein

I've got some close-by destinations in mind for one-day trips during the upcoming winter months. How about a visit to Schloss Neuschwanstein in Bavaria, Germany? The 19th-century Bavarian castle is situated on a rugged hill near Hohenschwangau and Füssen. Can you believe its rooms were intended for a single inhabitant?

Plus; Disney's sleeping beauty castle was modeled on castle Neuschwanstein.

dance on the table

Darlings, darlings, darlings! Have you been good and deserve the weekend? I bet. I've been good, too, I think. :) Any fun plans ahead? Whatever your plans are - have fun! xoxo

art: ball point pen

Oh. Wow. Ball point pen paintings. Paintings made with ball point pen ink. Let's stare at them for an hour or two, just because someone has been able to paint something beautiful with ball point pens.

Series created by Shane McAdams, artist and writer from Brooklyn.

thursday in style: cozy sweaters

When temperatures drop I find myself looking into my closet and finding only a few (read: almost none) pieces I truly like wearing. Eventhough I've lived in Switzerland all my life and I exactly know that I'll need warm pieces for more than half of the year, I find myself magically attracted to all the light garments. Short sleeves. Made of the least warming fabric possible. I just don't manage to be friends with wool & co.! I've got a task to accomplish this coming Saturday: Go shopping and not returning home before I've found some perfect warm-keepers for this winter! Wish me luck and meanwhile; here are some comfortable, hopefully non-ichy jumpers.

 Chunky cable knit, from Asos.

Sweet Maison Scotch sweater - 100% cotton.

monday daydream: wellness

Let's fight viral infections by boosting our immune system - wellness-time in Switzerland!

The plan would be heading to Arosa to stay at Tschuggen Grand hotel, where we'd just relax in the wellness area, eat typical Swiss food and enjoy the amazing panoramic views of the mountains from our terrace... Sounds like a plan, right?

ps: They offer their "renovation completed" special price package right now! :)

monday cold

Today I am in need of a big, cuddly scarf. A bad cold probably justifies buying scarf no. 7’365, don't you think? This handmade scarf can be worn as a hood or a cowl - another (double-) reason to buy it.

Scarf + ginger tea = healing (hopefully soon)

Happy, healthy Monday, all! Xoxo

thursday in style: gold

And to make grey skies shine bright: let's wear gold, ladies! On our nails, our feet, our legs, our body! But please do me a favor: Don't wear em' all together, will ya?!

A golden skirt...

and a golden blazer... both from Zara, obviously. Wouldn't this make a cool outfit to wear to a rock concert? Love the black and gold mix with a simple white t-shirt.

This gorgeous glitter and calf hair pumps...
... or this cute flats

And the most easy way to wear gold - even at day: nail polish. This rad color from Nars is
called Desperado. :)

tweed run NYC

How cool is this Tweed Run event? The organizers call it a “metropolitan bicycle ride with a bit of style” and looking through the pictures from this year’s event that happened last Saturday in Greenwich Village, I’d say quite some style!
Imagine what it would feel like to ride your bike with a bunch of well dressed people, all wearing their best (cycling) outfits, looking like in the English 20ies. Taking breaks to sip on some English tea. Oh, and they even conduct a moustache contest. :)

PS: Riding along my friends makes me think we are 10 year old kids again – little pranksters on the way to the next coup.  :)

art love

Looking for some new art pieces to frame, I came across some beautiful prints. I am now totally in love with "Flamenco" (what an appropriate name for a flamingo painting in reds!) by Aneesh Vini...

... and "Pavo Real" by Conrad Roset

And the best part: Both prints are totally affordable. What do you think guapis, which one should I get? Flamenco or Pavo? Sexy legs versus sexy breast?

chance of being

I had to smile when I came across this quote because just the other day I have been reading a very interesting article from Ali Binazir on the chances of us being. Hilarious read. Basically Ali wants us to understand that every one of us is a miracle, by definition.
Go read the article.

A group of starlings just flew over the office. Hundreds and hundreds of them. Bet the fly South. I want to fly South, too. Do you?

monday daydream: la provence

Hola dolls, how was your weekend? And more important; how did the transition from summer to fall go? Because we can not deny fall is here (at least for those of you from continental Europe...) All okay out there?

Just to make sure no blues gets to us; let's pretend we wander through la Provence...  Just for a minute or two...

Can you smell it?

PS: Lavender has a soothing effect on your nerves. Thought you need to know - just in case.

Plus: You make us want to jump through the leaves. What's not to love?

stickman

Sometimes the only thing that helps, is stupidity. Like drawing stickmen for an hour. Try yourself over here. You could draw your boss, your ex, that person that gets on your nerves... just saying. :)

happy birthday, imagine!

Dear Imagine,
I wish you a joyful and peaceful 40th birthday. You’ve stood the test of time and have become one of the most pacific songs of history. Well that’s an achievement for a 40 year old. Happy, happy birthday!

Love,
b & p

bio hotel

Some weeks ago we’ve been to South Tyrol, where we spent a cool weekend with two our friends. We stayed at a quiet BioVital hotel.

It turned out to be a peaceful and pretty place from where we could head to the close-by mountains to hike with a grand view of the Dolomites, have a drink in the outdoor area before dinner and stroll through close-by Merano.

The hotel is set in the middle of Europe’s largest fruit-orchard region and built on land which as been organically cultivated for more than 25 years. It has been constructed from solid wood and in accordance with environmental guidelines. Imagine that: No nails or glues have been used for the construction! The rooms are all built from solely natural materials; stone pine wood was used to build the rooms. Stone pine reduces the heart rate making us sleep more profoundly. The hotel restaurant uses exclusively organic products to prepare its menues. And: During the two days we stayed at the bio hotel, the four of us saved 90kg CO2 emissions. Cool right?

Have you been to a bio hotel so far, my lovelies? I’d love to be there right now. Laying in one of the rocking chairs and thinking about what to order for dinner.

monday daydream: cape town

One of the countries I’d like to return to one day (read: soon), is South Africa, Cape Town in particular. I remember sitting with my friend in a Bed & Breakfast owned by a particularly sweet old lady on our way to Durban, drinking wine with her on the patio. I don’t remember what we talked about, but I do remember that I felt like crying (read: happy crying) when going to bed that night. And wanting to stay with that older lady in her B & B. And ahhh & oohing at every animal we saw, specially the monkeys crossing the street while driving to the Cape of Good Hope.

Nature. Wine. Nature. National parks. Colors. Culture. Beaches. Bed & Breakfasts. Routes. Whales. Capes. Animals. Want to join?

birdie & friends

My old friend from school has become a pretty rad designer. A while ago the lovely curly hair Laila created birdie. Birdie is... a little clumsy bird (obviously) that finds himself in the most weird and funny situations. But see for yourself.

Birdie goes Cindy Crawford. :) Isn't he sweet and cool at the same time? I love birdie and am always looking forward to the next episode.

Become birdie & friends fan on facebook to follow all his funny adventures!

Birdie and I both wish you a funny weekend - full of laughter. xoxo

thursday in style: bright, brighter!

Lets fight grey skies with bold colors! No matter if on trousers, coats, pullovers, shirts, skirts or dresses - make fall essentials look fresh and fun! Let’s all make a promise to wear less black and co., yes?
